Vikram Solar enables Kolkata Port Trust’s endeavour to reduce its carbon footprint; commission’s KoPT’s 1st solar project

• Cumulative green energy generation from the plant would be 1.4 million units/year
• 1 MW captive solar plant will power around 1,400 staff quarters within the KoPT township

Kolkata, 8th October 2021: Vikram Solar, one of India’s leading module manufacturers and a prominent EPC solar solutions provider commissioned a 1 Megawatt (MW) solar plant for Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT), The Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Trust. This is KoPT’s first solar plant located at the Haldia Dock Complex, KoPT. It was inaugurated by the Honourable Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shri Sarbananda Sonowal. The ground mounted captive solar plant of KoPT is expected to generate 1.4 million units of green energy per year and reduce approximately 1,260 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
