Challenges & Solutions

• The site (The 42 building) is in the central part of Kolkata. It was a challenge for our Team Vikram Solar for transporting the project materials to a site situated at one of the busiest & crowded places of Kolkata. Also, movement of heavy vehicles is prohibited there in most of the time of the day.
  To mitigate the above issues, early morning material deliveries were planned to overcome restrictions on entry of heavy vehicles in the area.
• At the site, lifting of materials/manpower to 63rd floor (storage area) through service elevator was very challenging as simultaneously other multiple works were also going on in the building.
  Fixed time slots of 30 mins. was given to us for material and manpower movement through elevators. However, taking permissions from safety and security teams on daily basis was always a time taking process, still we managed to get those permissions by practicing safety norms.
• Faced many difficulties during the erection work on the top floor due to the height of the building (64th floor). Wind pressure, Clouds, etc posed challenges to the team & we had followed zero tolerance on safety measures.
  Permissions were taken from building security teams, fire officers etc. to ensure all safety compliances are followed during the work
